It has been months that Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh is out of the theatres but the success roll of the actor is still going on. While the movie is still entangled in controversies, Shahid Kapoor has reportedly signed another remake of the superhit Telugu language movie Jersey which originally starred Nani in the lead role.

While there were early reports that Shahid Kapoor has refused to work in the project, the latest report confirms that the actor has signed the Hindi remake of the Nani starrer. The movie is being produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, and Dil Raju, while Gowtam Tinnanuri will direct the Hindi remake. Gowtam was the director of the Telugu version as well.

On taking Shahid Kapoor on board, the director that there would have been no actor better than Shahid Kapoor to recreate the magic of Jersey for the Hindi audiences on a national level. “I’m really looking forward to remaking my film Jersey in Hindi and taking it to national audiences,” he added.

The storyline of the movie revolves around the protagonist who is a talented but failed cricketer and returns to the field in his late thirties to fulfil his son’s wish. While Shahid Kapoor will play the protagonist, the rest of the cast is yet to be confirmed.
