The Delhi leg of Cocktail 2, starring Shahid Kapoor, Kriti Sanon, and Rashmika Mandanna, has been postponed following the city’s worsening air quality and increased security measures after a recent blast near the Red Fort.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, the cast and crew were scheduled to begin a seven-day shoot in the capital on November 12. However, the rising Air Quality Index (AQI) and the tense atmosphere after the blast forced the production team to delay their plans.
A source revealed, “Shahid, Kriti, and Rashmika were supposed to start shooting in Delhi from November 12. The makers had mapped out an extensive schedule, especially in Old Delhi. But the severe pollution and heightened security concerns after the recent incident have made it difficult to proceed right now.”
The insider clarified that the schedule is only postponed, not cancelled. “The team is now aiming to shoot in December if conditions improve. The final dates are expected to be locked by the end of this month,” the source added.
Directed by Homi Adajania, Cocktail 2 serves as the sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. The original film was a critical and commercial success, becoming a milestone in Deepika’s career.
While filming for Cocktail 2 continues in other locations, the Delhi schedule is expected to resume once conditions stabilise. The film’s official release date has not yet been announced.
