Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan has been on a self-imposed sabbatical for years and he is finally ready to greet his fans with the keenly anticipated spy thriller Pathaan. Helmed by Siddharth Anand, the movie adds to YRF’s spy universe and will also feature Salman Khan reprising his character from his Tiger franchise. While the movie is inching towards its release, the makers have reportedly started working on a sequel already.
Marking the comeback of SRK, Pathaan has been garnering ample attention from the Bollywood audience and the fans are eagerly awaiting the first trailer of the movie. Now, if reports are to be believed, the makers have already started working on a sequel to the thriller movie to turn it into a franchise. While neither the director nor the producers have quoted anything about the sequel, the reports suggest that the script for Pathaan 2 is being worked upon to make it more extravagant than the first instalment.
The story is expected to travel to different countries following the success mantra of Salman Khan starrer Tiger Zinda Hai and might introduce new characters to the sequel. However, there has been no official confirmation yet and the success of the first instalment will decide the fate of the anticipated franchise.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan reunited Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone after the 2015 release Dilwale. The movie also features John Abraham as the antagonist and a special appearance by Salman Khan as Tiger. Apart from Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan also has Atlee’s directorial Jawan and Rajkumar Hirani’s immigration comedy Dunki.
