On November 4, the multilingual mythological drama “Shaakuntalam,” starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Allu Arjun’s daughter Allu Arha will be released in theatres. “Witness the #EpicLoveStory #Shaakuntalam in Theatres starting Nov. 4th 2022 Worldwide,” the filmmakers wrote in a tweet while sharing the news. The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
The announcement poster shows Samantha and Dev Mohan’s onscreen couple, Shakuntala and Dushyanta, embracing. Along with Allu Arha as Prince Bharatha, the drama will also have Mohan Babu, Gautami, Aditi Balan, and Ananya Nagalla in supporting roles. It was inspired by Kalidasa’s well-known play Shakuntala.
Also, director Gunasekhar said on Twitter that Shaakuntalam promotions will begin briefly. The project is presented by Dil Raju via Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Gunaa Teamworks and is produced by Neelima Guna. The drama is still under post-production and is expected to be heavy on VFX.
Regarding the technical team for the movie, Mani Sharma composed the music for Shaakuntalam, while Prawin Pudi oversaw the editing section. For the film, Sekhar V. Joseph has turned up the camera.
The Hollywood movie Arrangements of Love and the new-age thriller Yashoda are also on Samantha’s schedule. Alongside Varun Dhawan, she will make her Bollywood debut in the movie Citadel, directed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK.
Following Samantha’s social media hiatus, rumours circulated that the actress has a rare skin ailment and has moved to the US for treatment. Her manager shot down the rumours, telling Indian Express that the actress is well and the rumours are “simply gossip,” although he made no mention of the reason the celebrity was travelling abroad.
