Ajay Devgn and Ileana D’Cruz starrer crime thriller Raid was a success at the box office and received mostly positive word of mouth for its storyline and the performances by the lead star cast. While the movie released in the year 2018, rumours about a sequel had been doing rounds over the internet for a while and now the same has been confirmed by the producer.

Confirming the same, T-Series head Bhushan Kumar recently confirmed that the script of Raid 2 is being worked upon and the sequel will also star Ajay Devgn in the key role. Ajay Devgn and Bhushan Kumar had earlier collaborated for the first instalment of the Raid franchise and later they joined hands for Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior which tanked at the box office. The filmmaker also confirmed that the sequel will be bankrolled by T-Series along with the film production banner of Ajay Devgn and Kumar Mangat.

Raid was based on a real story and dealt with one of the most high profile income tax raid known in the country carried out by a fearless Income Tax officer Amay Patnaik. The sequel will also be based upon a real story and will give a tribute to men who don’t wear a uniform.

Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn has a number of big banner projects in his pipeline which includes Amit Sharma directorial Maidaan, Neeraj Pandey’s Chanakya, SS Rajamouli’s highly anticipated drama RRR, Bhuj: The Pride Of India, Indra Kumar directorial Thank God and Hindi remake of hit Tamil drama, Kaithi.
