While there has been a long list of movies waiting for a release in the COVID-19 era, OTT giant Netflix has announced its original film which will be a lovely affair. The Vivek Soni directorial will be bringing together Sanya Malhotra and Abhimanyu Dassani together for the first time for a movie and we cannot expect anything but eponymous performances.
Netflix took to its official social media handle to announce the movie with the first look poster featuring Sanya Malhotra, Abhimanyu Dassani and ‘weddings’. “Adding Sanya Malhotra + Abhimanyu Dassani + weddings to our list of iconic trios. #MeenakshiSundareshwar,” the caption to the first look poster read. Set in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, Meenakshi Sundareshwar will revolve around the trials and tribulations of a young couple.

The romantic-comedy will mark the second association of Sanya Malhotra after the success of recent release Ludo with an ensemble cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Asha Negi, Pankaj Tripathi, Rohit Suresh Saraf and Pearle Maaney. Bankrolled by Dharmatic Entertainment, Meenakshi Sundareshwar also marks the directorial debut of Vivek Soni.
