Munna Bhai MBBS has been one of the most successful movies of the Sanjay Dutt’s acting career and the success of the comedy-drama encouraged the makers to add more instalments to the franchise when sequels were not popular. After the success of Munna Bhai MBBS and Lage Raho Munna Bhai, the makers released a teaser of the third instalment but the movie got shelved after Sanjay Dutt got entangled in legal battles.
After many years, director Rajkumar Hirani confirmed that he was indeed working on the script of Munna Bhai MBBS 3 during the promotions of Sanjay Dutt biopic Sanju. The director said that he had been working on the script but he decided to work on Sanju as the priority.
Now during the promotional event of Sanjay Dutt starrer Prassthanam, the actor announced that the script is being worked upon and the movie is expected to go on the floors by the end of 2020. The third instalment will also be directed by Rajkumar Hirani with Sanjay Dutt and Arshad Warsi in the prominent characters.
Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt was last seen in the historical period drama Kalank and will soon be seen in the Deva Katta directorial Prassthanam.
