NCB Zonal director Sameer Wankhede has been in the news lately related to Aryan Khan’s arrest and legal pursuit for alleged possession of contraband substances. The eldest son of Shah Rukh Khan was kept in judicial custody for over 3 weeks and the case was investigated by Sameer Wankhede. However, he recently faced backlash for severe allegations against him and the latest report suggests that he has been shifted from the case.

For the unversed, Sameer Wankhede played a key role in the arrest and investigation of Aryan Khan after a rave party was busted by NCB at a Mumbai cruise. However, soon after Aryan’s bail pleas were rejected in the local court, allegations were made against NCB Zonal director by an alleged witness. It was alleged by the witness that some officers including Sameer Wankhede were trying to extort money from Shah Rukh Khan for Aryan Khan’s release. However, the officer denied all such claims and no evidence has been found to support the same so far. There were also allegations that Sameer forged documents to secure a government job and lied about his religion.

The report informs that the Aryan Khan’s case will now be headed by the Central Zone and reportedly, Sanjay Singh of NCB will probe the case further. Sameer has informed that it was his plea to hand over the case to either a central agency or the NCB’s Delhi unit. “I’ve not been removed from investigation. It was my writ petition in court that the matter be probed by a central agency. So Aryan case & Sameer Khan case are being probed by Delhi NCB’s SIT,” his tweet read.
