Known for marching to the beat of his own drum, Salman Khan has once again taken an unexpected turn in his career. While fans and industry insiders anticipated that he might choose big names like Ali Abbas Zafar, Kabir Khan, or Siddharth Anand for his next project post-Sikandar, the superstar has instead finalised director Apoorva Lakhia for his upcoming film.
According to sources close to the production, the film is set to begin shooting in July 2025, with the first schedule taking place in the breathtaking high-altitude landscapes of Ladakh. “Salman has already started prepping for the role and is working on achieving a leaner look for the film,” the source shared with Bollywood Hungama. The Ladakh shoot will last around 20 days, followed by a 50-day schedule in Mumbai, after which the film will be wrapped up. It is targeting a theatrical release in the first half of 2026.
Interestingly, the film is reportedly inspired by India’s Most Fearless 3, hinting at an intense and patriotic storyline.
While there are rumours of a potential collaboration with Kabir Khan next, nothing has been confirmed. Ali Abbas Zafar and YRF have also approached Salman with separate projects, but he is taking a cautious approach. Post-Tiger 3, Salman is said to be prioritising films with strong returns on paper and prefers working on a front-end fee model—a strategy that ensures profitability before stepping onto the sets.
The decision to go with Apoorva Lakhia, known for films like Shootout at Lokhandwala, may seem unconventional, but it reflects Salman’s current strategy—low-risk, high-reward films with impactful storytelling.
With his Ladakh schedule around the corner and a summer 2026 release on the horizon, fans can expect to see a new side of Salman Khan very soon.
