Just weeks after reports surfaced about Atlee’s ambitious project A6, featuring Salman Khan in the lead, the film has now been put on hold due to casting complications. The action-packed entertainer, which was set to be made on a massive budget of ₹500 crores, initially aimed to cast Rajinikanth or Kamal Haasan alongside Salman. However, when those plans didn’t materialize, Atlee explored the possibility of bringing Hollywood star Will Smith on board.

Sources reveal that while discussions with Will Smith were progressing positively—thanks to Salman Khan facilitating the connection—Sun Pictures, the film’s production house, insisted on having a South Indian superstar as part of the cast. Known for backing big-budget films featuring South Indian legends, Sun Pictures was reportedly unwilling to proceed without one. As a result, they asked Atlee to put the project on hold and reconsider casting choices.

Despite this setback, A6 has not been scrapped entirely. Talks between Atlee, Salman Khan, and Sun Pictures are still ongoing, as both the director and actor are eager to bring their vision to life. A final decision regarding the film’s future is expected by the end of March.

Given the immense anticipation surrounding A6, the news of its delay has taken fans by surprise. Atlee had previously confirmed the film multiple times, making its current uncertain status all the more shocking. However, with discussions still underway, there’s hope that this high-profile collaboration will find a way forward.
