The ongoing clash between Salaar and Dunki has intensified, with the latest development involving team Salaar withdrawing the film’s release from major multiplex chains, namely PVR-Inox and Miraj, in the South Indian markets. The decision comes as a response to what the Salaar team deems unfair trade practices by Pen Marudhar and the team behind the SRK starrer Dunki.

The catalyst for this move is the alleged preferential treatment given to Dunki by PVR-Inox, where the multiplex chains openly favour the Shah Rukh Khan film over Salaar. Despite earlier commitments to equal showcasing in single screens, PVR-Inox and Miraj reportedly shifted their stance after a lucrative deal was struck between SRK and PVR Owner Ajay Bijli. The sudden change in screen-sharing commitments has sent shock waves through the industry, affecting not only Hombale but also causing a ripple effect with single screen owners.

The Hombale team, responsible for Salaar, is now contemplating taking decisive action against Ajay Bijli and PVR-Inox for their alleged role in the shift of tide. As the clash between Dunki and Salaar looms on December 22, the repercussions of this decision are expected to unfold in the coming days.
