Popular television actor, Karan Mehra, was arrested a day ago after his wife, Nisha Rawal, accused him of assaulting her. A complaint was filed against the actor by his wife following an alleged domestic dispute on 31st May and Karan was granted bail on Tuesday. After the news went viral over the internet, Karan’s co-star and close friend, Rohan Mehra, has come out in his support.
Sharing his reaction to the shocking news, Rohan said that Karan has never raised his voice in the last five years he has known him. The two also shared time in the controversial house of Bigg Boss 10 and Rohan adds that Karan was able to remain calm even during the high-pressure environment of the celebrity-based reality show. However, Rohan refrained from commenting any further on the issue citing that he is not aware of the entire scenario, though he mentioned that Karan has been very respectful to everyone on the sets of the daily soap, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai.
Meanwhile, the accused, Karan Mehra, has recently shared his side of the story after the bail. Karan said that his married life was on the rocks lately and the couple was working on the financials when they came across disagreements. The actor alleges that Nisha wanted more than he could give which led to the dispute.
“She would throw stuff and hit herself and others. Five-six years ago, she was diagnosed as bipolar. People, including our friends and relatives have seen her behaviour in public and I couldn’t take it anymore,” he further alleged. The couple had reportedly set up cameras inside their house but Karan claims Nisha and her brother switched off the cameras before the incident to implicate him.
