American actor Robert Downey Jr gained huge popularity post his portrayal of comic-book based superhero Ironman in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the actor played the part in 10 movies within the MCU’s Avengers franchise beginning with Iron Man in the year 2008, his character died in the epic showdown and conclusion of Phase 3 of MCU. While the news has been confirmed multiple times by the actor and the makers of the superhero universe, his fans refuse to believe the fact.

In a recent podcast session SmartLess, co-host Jason Bateman couldn’t resist asking the superstar if he is ever going to reprise his character of Ironman in the MCU and the actor was quick to revert with a negative. “That’s all done. As far as I’m concerned, I hung up my guns and I’m good to let it go. I also think that Marvel is on this journey now. They’re trying a bunch of other stuff and you know, I’m excited for them to see how all that goes,” the actor said as he again confirmed that Ironman is over for him.

On the work front, Robert Downey Jr was last seen in the American fantasy adventure film, Dolittle, while he will next be seen in the MCU’s Black Widow as Tony Stark/Ironman for one last time. The actor will also be seen in the sports comedy-drama, All-Star Weekend, which is under post-production. On the other hand, Robert Downey Jr appeared in the special tribute to Chadwick Boseman on ABC, Chadwick Boseman – A Tribute for a King. Chadwick Boseman, who played the iconic superhero Black Panther in the MCU succumbed to colon cancer after battling the disease for years.
