In the ongoing probe of Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide case, a drug link created a furore over the social media networks and Narcotics Crime Beaureu was appointed to investigate the matter. With Rhea Chakraborty being the prime suspect in the suicide case, the investigation began with her involvements with contraband substances and the actress along with her brother was arrested on September 9.
Rhea Chakraborty and her brother, Showik Chakraborty, were initially sent to judicial custody till September 22 but the custody was extended to October 9 upon the request of NCB. While their custody was about to end today, it had been extended once again for another 14 days and now they will be kept under judicial custody till 20th of October. The actress had also filed a bail plea in the court, it was opposed by the NCB stating that her arrest wasn’t related to the Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise.
Meanwhile, CBI and NCB are conducting their separate investigations in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and the alleged drug nexus in Bollywood, respectively. On the other hand, the AIIMS forensic team submitted their second opinion on the late actor’s post-mortem and viscera reports ruling out the murder angle. The forensic team appointed by CBI stated the death of Sushant Singh Rajput to be ‘a case of hanging and death by suicide’.
