Rhea Chakraborty has been granted bail by the Bombay High Court after her arrest in drug links related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide case. The actress was arrested nearly a month ago with her brother Showik Chakraborty, whose bail plea has been rejected by the Bombay High Court. The decision comes a day after another court had extended their judicial custody for 14 days.

Along with actress, Sushant Singh Rajput’s employees Samuel Miranda and Dipesh Sawant have been granted bail as well. Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, expressed his pleasure on the court directive and said, “We are delighted by the order. Truth and Justice have prevailed and ultimately the submissions on facts and law have been accepted by Justice Sarang V Kotwal.”

In the bail plea, the actress had argued that the charges against her were too severe considering the quantity of the drugs involved. She also accused NCB of spinning a false narrative that she was actively involved in drug trafficking and ‘harboured offenders’. Along with the drug charges, Rhea Chakraborty also claimed that Sushant Singh Rajput was disturbed over a rift with his family who abandoned him at the peak of his depression.

The bail for Rhea Chakraborty came with conditions and the actress has been asked to submit 1 lakh Indian rupees as bond and mark her attendance at the nearest police station for the next 10 days. She has also been refrained from travelling out of the country without permission from the court.
