Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput died on June 14 at an age of 34, leaving behind multiple conspiracy and criminal theories associated with his reported suicide. While his girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty has been accused by the late actor’s father of abetment to suicide and financial cheating, the actress was summoned before Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the money laundering case.
Rhea Chakraborty who had requested to postpone her attendance appeared at the appointed date and time after her please was rejected by the Enforcement Directorate. Her lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, said that she is a law-abiding citizen and wouldn’t go against the law. Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, has accused Rhea Chakraborty that she befriended his son in May 2019 with the sole intention of furthering her own career and benefitting from his money. The ED will probe allegations of mishandling Rajput’s money by Rhea Chakraborty.
Meanwhile, after a recommendation from the Bihar government, CBI has registered a case against six people in relation to the Sushant Singh Rajput suicide case which includes Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, her father Indrajit Chakraborty, her mother Sandhya Chakraborty and Sushant’s house managers – Samuel Miranda and Shruti Modi. The CBI will probe allegations of abetment to suicide, criminal conspiracy, cheating, wrongful restraint and theft among others against the actress and five others.
The actress had also filed a petition to transfer her case from Patna to Mumbai after Sushant’s father KK Singh lodged a complaint in Bihar. Her plea is dated to be heard next week in the apex court.
