Based on the life of American tennis coach, Richard Williams, King Richard is an upcoming American biographical sports drama starring Will Smith in the titular character. According to the latest report, the movie will be directed by Monster and Men director Reinaldo Marcus Green.

Produced by Tim and Trevor White under the banner of Star Thrower Entertainment along with Will Smith’s Overbrook Entertainment, the synopsis of the movie was revealed a couple of months before. The film will centre around tennis coach Richard Williams’ overcoming hardship, controversy, and his own troubled past to train his daughters despite not having a tennis background.

Written by Zach Baylin, King Richard is scheduled to hit the theatres on November 25, 2020.

Meanwhile, Will Smith, who was last seen playing Genie in the fantasy drama Aladdin, is currently busy shooting for the action-comedy Bad Boys for Life, which is scheduled for a release on 17 January 2020. Smith will also be seen in science fiction Gemini Man which will hit the theatres on October 11, 2019.
