Hosted by superstar Salman Khan, Bigg Boss is one of the most-watched and successful Indian television reality show of all time and the recent season of the celebrity-based reality show turned out to be the most successful season in history. While the COVID-19 has put everyone in an unexpected and unprepared situation, television channels are finding it difficult to come up with content since shootings of daily soaps and other shows have been on halt.
Meanwhile, many television channels resorted to re-telecasting old popular shows in an attempt to retain their viewers and keep them entertained amid the Coronavirus scare. Colors TV brought back the thirteenth season of the reality show Bigg Boss on the 13th of March but the channel decided to pull it off after receiving a poor response from the viewers. The Salman Khan hosted show was abruptly taken down after a month and was replaced with another reality show, Dance Deewane.
Meanwhile, the channel has also started telecasting other popular shows including Balika Vadhu and Belan Wali Bahu amid the nationwide lockdown. Other channels are following the same approach to keep their loyal viewers relive old memories in a situation which is putting stress on the mental health of many.
