The probe in Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide case has taken an entirely unexpected turn as multiple agencies are probing not just the death of the actor but the drug links in Bollywood. While actress Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by NCB officials after she confessed procuring contraband substances, many Bollywood celebrities came under the radar in drug links.

While a few names were cropped to the top in the ongoing investigation, an alleged chat of Deepika Padukone and her talent manager surfaced online in which the two can be seen discussing drugs. Post the media revelations, NCB has summoned the actress along with the likes of Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh to probe the drug links in the Indian entertainment industry. While Deepika Padukone arrived from Goa where she was to shoot for Shakun Batra’s next alongside Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Pandya, husband Ranveer Singh gave her company and reportedly even requested NCB to let him join the probe.

As per the reports, the actor has sent a formal letter to the NCB team seeking permission to join Deepika Padukone during the probe. Ranveer Singh reportedly mentioned that he understands the fact that he cannot be with his wife during the questioning but asked the permission to be in the NCB office. The actor cited that the actress gets anxiety attacks and therefore, he would like to accompany her to the building.

However, NCB officials have denied receiving any such request from the actor and confirmed, “we have not received any such request from any summoned person. The last email received from the concerned summoned person is only regarding joining the investigation.”
