India is just as much obsessed with cricket as Bollywood is obsessed with remakes and biopics. Whenever the two obsessions in the country have come together, it has been an absolute success at the box office. While the rumours were rife that a biopic on the life of ex-Indian skipper and current BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is in the works, the cricketer has confirmed the news himself.
In a recent media interaction, Sourav Ganguly confirmed that he has given his nod to do a biopic on him. “Yes, I have agreed to the biopic. It will be in Hindi but it is not possible to say the name of the director now. It will take a few more days for arranging everything,” the former cricketer said. While he refrained from giving out more details about the exciting project, a report suggests that Ranbir Kapoor is the top contender to get into his shoes.
While there has been no clarity on the project details so far, it is confirmed that the biopic is happening and if the rumoured budget for the movie has to be considered, it is likely that we will see a renowned face playing the on-screen Dada. The report also adds that there are two more actors that are being considered to play the lead apart from Ranbir.
