It was earlier reported that Ranveer Singh would be reuniting with ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the remake of critically and commercial drama, Baiju Bawra, after the success of historical-drama, Padmaavat. However, the latest reports suggest that Ranbir Kapoor, not Ranveer Singh, is being finalized to play the lead in the musical project.

The highly-anticipated movie was earlier offered to Ranveer Singh and the actor was in talks with the developments, however, things didn’t materialize and the filmmaker started his search for his Baiju Bawra. Ranbir Kapoor made his dream debut with Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya and although the movie tanked at the box office, it gave Ranbir the due recognition for his acting potential. After more than a decade, Ranbir has been approached by the filmmaker to play the character of Baiju in the remake of the iconic Baiju Bawra. Ranbir reportedly visited the filmmaker in his office to discuss the project and gave his initial nod for the same.

Ranbir has earlier played a singer in the commercially successful musical-drama, Rockstar, and aced his character with perfection. With a collaboration with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for an already tested script, we can expect nothing but a virtual treat for the cinegoers. The makers are currently working on the dates of Ranbir Kapoor and the movie is expected to go on the floors by the end of 2021.
