After his acclaimed portrayal of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in the mini-series Bose: Dead or Alive, Rajkummar Rao is ready to take on another significant historical role. According to industry insiders, the talented actor is gearing up to portray the iconic leader Bhagat Singh in an upcoming project, generating excitement within the industry.

Sources close to the development reveal that Rajkummar Rao is deeply passionate about the project and eagerly awaits the opportunity to bring the revolutionary leader Bhagat Singh to life. Currently, in the early stages of development, a team of writers is conducting extensive research on Bhagat Singh’s life, while Rajkummar actively participates in the script development process, treating it as a personal pet project.

The project aims to present Bhagat Singh’s story in a unique way, diverging from the conventional film format. The team is exploring the long-form format to delve deeper into the narrative. However, the project is still in its nascent stage, and the writing process alone is expected to take another 6 to 8 months.

In recent film endeavours, Rajkummar Rao appeared in Anubhav Sinha’s Bheed alongside Bhumi Pednekar, Pankaj Kapur, and Dia Mirza. The film delves into the hardships faced by a particular segment of people during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020. Notably, Bheed was shot in a captivating black-and-white format by Anubhav Sinha, adding a unique visual appeal to the narrative.
