Today the world mourns the demise of American musician Aretha Louise Franklin, 76, in her Detroit home. The singer has been an inspiration to many all across the world, her songs were a game changer in the American Pop industry.
The ‘Queen of Soul’ died of Pancreatic cancer leaving her family and fans distraught. She was not keeping well for a very long time, because of which she even cancelled many of her impending concerts last year and even early this year.
Her music and voice carried her soul, her experience, her vision, her magic. One of the greatest empowering musician, her contribution to music and her country is awe-inspiring. In her 50 year plus long career, Aretha has won a lot many honorary accolades, including being the first very woman to get inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of fame.
She gave her final performance in New York last year in November for the Elton John AIDS Foundation during Elton John’s 25th anniversary gala.
