While the nation is shocked with the murder of a 21-year-old college girl in Haryana, more such cases are being reported across the country and one such case is of actress Malvi Malhotra. The Udaan actress has suffered a knife attack near her residence in Versova on Monday when she refused the marriage proposal of a man.
As per the reports, the accused identified as Yogesh Kumar Mahipal Singh stabbed the actress thrice with a knife when she rejected to marry him. Yogesh Kumar, who had been stalking the actress for a while, had proposed her for marriage. However, Malvi rejected her proposal asking to remain friends instead to not escalate the situation. On Monday, the Yogesh Kumar attacked Malvi with a knife and stabbed her thrice in the stomach, right wrist, and left arm.
After the unfortunate incident, Malvi was rushed to Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital while an FIR was registered against the accused. After the police started their investigation, Yogesh was tracked in a hospital neighbouring Palghar district. As per the report, he met with an accident after fleeing from the crime scene and locals admitted him to a hospital where police caught him. “He has not yet been arrested as he is hospitalized for some treatment,” the official said.
Meanwhile, Malvi Malhotra is stable but will take months to recover from the injuries. “I think it will take 2-3 months before I am alright. Right now, the fingers of my left hand are not moving. The knife incision in my stomach was about 1.5 inches,” the actress told ETimes TV.
