David Dhawan is all prepared to revive his classic hit Coolie No. 1 starring Govinda and Karishma Kapoor in the lead characters. The remake will be helmed by him as well and Varun Dhawan will get into the shoes of Govinda while Sara Ali Khan will be donning the character played by Karishma Kapoor in the original comedy-drama.
The latest update in the cast loop is that Paresh Rawal has been roped in to play the character of Hoshiyar Chand which was portrayed by Kader Khan in the iconic 1995 film. Paresh will be seen playing the father of Sara Ali Khan’s character in the remake of Coolie No. 1.
According to the director-producer, David Dhawan, the storyline of the remake will be adapted as per modern sensibilities and Paresh Rawal’s character is expected to be less orthodox unlike that of Kader Khan. The remake has been penned down by the original writer Rumi Jaffery while Farhad Samji is on the dialogues.
The movie starring Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan is expected to go on the floors in the month of August and will seek a release date in the year 2020.
