The Hera Pheri 3 saga has kept Bollywood fans on edge for weeks, but it seems the dust has finally settled. After reports of Paresh Rawal quitting the much-awaited comedy sequel and a subsequent ₹25 crore legal notice from Akshay Kumar’s production house, the veteran actor has now confirmed that the issue is officially behind them.

Appearing on Himanshu Mehta’s podcast, Paresh Rawal addressed the controversy head-on and put the rumours to rest. “There’s no controversy,” he said firmly. “When people have showered a film with so much love, it becomes our responsibility to give them something worthy. You can’t take the audience for granted. You have to work hard and give them a film that respects that love.”

He further clarified his initial reservations, saying, “All I wanted was for everyone to come together, work hard, and do justice to the film. That’s all. And now, everything has been sorted.”

When asked again to confirm if everything is fine now, Rawal nodded and smiled, “It was always going to happen. We just needed to fine-tune ourselves. After all, everyone involved—Priyadarshan, Akshay, Suniel—we’ve been friends for decades. They’re all creative people.”

For those who missed the initial stir: On May 16, Rawal confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that he had exited Hera Pheri 3, prompting Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, to take legal action. Reports stated that Rawal returned his ₹11 lakh signing fee, along with 15% interest and an additional compensation sum, after stepping away from the project. His full fee had been pegged at ₹15 crore, with most of it payable only after the film’s release—potentially in 2026 or 2027. This long delay, reportedly, was one of Rawal’s concerns.

Akshay Kumar had briefly touched upon the matter at the Housefull 5 trailer launch but refrained from discussing legal issues in public. However, he did take a stand when a journalist used the word “foolish” in reference to Rawal’s departure. “I wouldn’t appreciate that word being used for my co-star,” Akshay said. “I’ve worked with him for 32 years. He’s a brilliant actor and a good friend. I admire him.”

With bridges mended and Paresh Rawal back in the picture, fans can now breathe a sigh of relief. The original Hera Pheri trio seems ready to return, and the stage is once again set for another round of iconic comedy.
