Actor Pankaj Tripathi, who has multiple projects lined up including web series and films, recently visited the National School of Drama and interacted with students at a session of Bharat Rang Mahotsav. During the conversation, he talked about his experiences in the industry and the struggles that aspiring actors face while trying to make their mark.

However, Tripathi is also making headlines for a different reason. He plans to take legal action against the makers of the film Azamgarh. The movie is the debut feature of National Award winner Kamlesh Mishra and features Tripathi in the titular role of a Maulavi who leads the youth to the path of terrorism.

Reportedly, Tripathi saw the hoardings of the film ahead of its OTT release, and it apparently upset the actor. The makers are allegedly using his name to promote the film as if he has a lead role, but Tripathi does not want such “cheap popularity.” According to a report by Amar Ujala, Tripathi worked on the film without taking any remuneration and feels that he has a small role in the film.

If the makers do not agree to stop using his name for promotions, Tripathi plans to take legal action against them. He believes the way he is featured on the film poster is wrong and wants to avoid any misrepresentation. As of now, Tripathi has not issued an official statement on the matter.

On the professional front, Tripathi has several projects in his kitty, including Metro In Dino, Fukrey 3, and OMG 2. He was last seen in the third instalment of his popular web series Criminal Justice.
