Spider-Man has been one of the most loved superheroes characters ever and the web-slinging character was bought back to life with constants appearances in the popular Marvel Cinematic Universe along with Spider-Man: Far From Home which became one of the most lucrative Spider-Man live-action movies.

While the character rights belong to Sony, Disney feels that Marvel Studios built the hype for the recently released Spider-Man movies with appearances and post-credit scenes in the MCU films including the Avengers: Endgame. While they have earlier accepted on a profit-sharing agreement, Disney, who is a parent company to Marvel Studios, wants more from the Spider-Man franchise after the huge success of the solo film.

On the other hands, Sony feels that they can keep the franchise going forward with no involvement from Kevin Feige, President of the Marvel Studios. This also means that the character of Spider-Man might not appear in the future MCU films after the dispute between the two studios, which has become official now.
