Harry Potter movie franchise is undoubtedly one of the most loved and successful franchises in the cinema world and the fans had an exciting climax to the movie franchise a decade ago. However, the wizarding world has always kept the fans on the edge of their seats with rumours of new developments. With reunion and games making roars, the rumours of a web series have kept the fans engaged for a long time.

There have been rumours of the studio working on ideas to bring the epic magical world to the long-format content and create a web series for HBO Max. However, clearing the air, the HBO Max Head Of Originals Sarah Aubrey has revealed the future plans of taking the franchise forward in possible formats. While she confirmed that the studio is always looking forward to addressing the appetite of Harry Potter fans with new content, she refuted rumours of any web series in active development.

“There’s nothing like a ‘Harry Potter’ fan, in terms of their endless appetite for storytelling and new ways of interacting with these characters. So whether it’s the reunion or live events or games, we’re very much in the business of creating new content for those fans and thinking what to do next. We don’t have a series in active development right now. But we are very much in that business, because fans are just clamoring for more storytelling,” she said.

While Sarah clarified that the production house has no plans to bring the franchise to a web series format at the moment, she also gave hope that the studio might consider the same in the future.

Featuring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and Ralph Fiennes along with an enchanting assemble cast, the Harry Potter movie franchise based on the popular novels of the same title debuted in the year 2001 and continued its reign till the finale in 2011. Celebrating the 20th anniversary of the franchise’s first film, the production house released a documentary reunion earlier this year.
