It’s official — the live-action Masters of the Universe has wrapped filming, and Nicholas Galitzine, who stars as both Prince Adam and He-Man, couldn’t be more proud. The actor took to Instagram on Sunday, June 15, to share the exciting update with fans, offering a glimpse into what he calls the most transformative role of his career.
“Well, that’s a wrap on Masters of the Universe,” Galitzine wrote, posting a shadowy silhouette of himself in costume. “It’s been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He-Man. It’s the role of a lifetime, and I gave it everything I had. There’s not much I can reveal just yet, but I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve created. Huge thanks to our incredible cast and crew for their dedication.”
Slated for a June 5, 2026 theatrical release, the film is being brought to life by Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Films, with direction by Travis Knight (Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee).

The story follows young Prince Adam, who crash-lands on Earth as a 10-year-old and loses his mystical Power Sword — his only connection to his home world, Eternia. Nearly two decades later, he rediscovers the sword, returns to his planet, and embraces his destiny as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe. Now, he must protect Castle Grayskull from the sinister Skeletor and a growing army of evil.
The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast. Camila Mendes stars as Teela and also celebrated her wrap on the project via TikTok. Jared Leto steps into the villainous role of Skeletor, while Idris Elba takes on the character of Duncan, also known as Man-at-Arms. Alison Brie plays the scheming Evil-Lyn, Morena Baccarin appears as The Sorceress, and James Purefoy and Charlotte Riley portray King Randor and Queen Marlena, respectively. Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson joins as Fisto, Sam C. Wilson plays Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson transforms into Goat Man, and Kojo Attah features as Tri-Klops. Rounding out the cast are Sasheer Zamata, Jon Xue Zhang, and Christian Vunipola in yet-to-be-disclosed roles.
The screenplay, crafted by Chris Butler and based on earlier drafts by David Callaham and the Nee brothers, promises to dive into He-Man’s emotional journey and explore the mythology surrounding Castle Grayskull—a key location from the beloved 1980s cartoon series. With Galitzine’s heartfelt dedication, a compelling story, and a stellar cast, Masters of the Universe is shaping up to be a major cinematic event for fans both new and old.
