Netflix India’s cricket themed original web show ‘Selection Day’ produced by Anil Kapoor Film Company (AKFC) released its first official trailer of its upcoming season 2, set to release on April 19.

The six episode series received mixed yet encouraging reviews in its first season, that introduces us to the world of Manju (Mohammad Samad) and Radha (Yash Dholye), two athletically fine brothers who are working towards the fulfillment of their  authoritarian  father Mohan Kumar (Rajesh Tailang)  dream to see them excel in his favorite sport Cricket.

Last season  saw  the two brothers  enrolled in a fictitious Weinberg Academy in Mumbai, excel in their training, at the same time explore their own individual interests & destiny. Manju who dislikes cricket, finds himself strongly pulled towards Radha’s rival Javed (Karanvir Malhotra). It however, ended in a cliff hanger with 113 days to the Selection Day and Radha beaten up by a group of unknown boys.

The trailer gives us a small glimpse into Manju wanting to walk his own path far away from Cricket, and his father’s authoritativeness.  Will he be successful or not? is something we have to wait and watch, with all 6 episodes premiering on April 19.

Directed by Udayan Prasad and Karan Boolani, season 2 will also see Ratna Pathak Shah, Mahesh Manjrekar and Shiv Pandit reprising their roles from  season 1.
