With Coronavirus pandemic getting prominent in the country, movie theatres remain shut while giving a bigger canvas for the OTT platform to play. For the last couple months, OTT platforms have emerged as the only way out for the producers to release their projects in the current scenario. Even A-listers of Bollywood are taking the digital route and the latest to join the bandwagon is Kabir Singh actor Shahid Kapoor.
As per the latest report, Shahid Kapoor has signed a whopping Rs 100 crore deal with OTT platform Netflix and the actor will be making his digital debut soon with Netflix in charge. While the project details are currently not locked, the reports suggest that the dotted line signed by the actor is not just for a single movie or series but he will be toplining different projects for the digital streaming platform.
It was earlier informed by the sources of Pinkvilla that Shahid Kapoor has also been approached by Guneet Monga for a Hindi remake of Suriya starrer Soorarai Pottru. If the deal materializes, it is likely that the remake will directly release on the digital platform as well. Meanwhile, many Bollywood actors including the likes of Ajay Devgn and Hrithik Roshan have also been signed by the OTT platforms. While the project details of Ajay Devgn is still under tight wraps, Hrithik will be spearheading a Hotstar series with a remuneration of Rs 80 crore.
