Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his wife, Aaliya Siddiqui have been making headlines lately for their ongoing divorce which Aaliya’s lawyer confirmed. Now that the two are working to legally end their 10-year-old marriage, Aaliya has opened up about her decision of filing a divorce and accused Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s family of ‘mental and physical torture’.
In a recent conversation with an entertainment portal, Bollywood Life, Aaliya confirmed that she had been having problems in her married life with Nawazuddin from the beginning but kept mum. Aaliya said that Nawazuddin’s family mentally and physically tortured her and she couldn’t take it anymore. However, she confessed that the actor never raised a hand on her but mentally tormented her which became unbearable. Aaliya also claimed that the actor’s brother hit her.
“His mother and brothers and sisters-in-law used to stay with us only in Mumbai. So, I’ve been bearing a lot for too many years. His first wife had also left him for this reason alone. It’s a pattern. There are already seven cases registered by the wives of their house against them, and four divorces have taken place. This is the fifth one. It’s a pattern in his family,” Aaliya talked about her time in the married life with the Manto actor. She has also filed for the sole custody of their two children and alleged that Nawazuddin doesn’t care about them. “Our kids don’t even remember when their father last visited them. It’s been 3-4 months since he’s met his kids, but he doesn’t care, so even the kids have become used to it and don’t ask for him,” she further added.
While Nawazuddin Siddiqui has not reacted to the divorce filed by his wife or the allegations made against his family, he is currently in home quarantine in his hometown post he travelled from Mumbai to hometown, Bhudana, along with his family. Meanwhile, Aaliya Siddiqui has reverted to her original name, Anjana Kishor Pandey, confirming that she is not seeking any reconciliation.
