14 June marked an unfortunate day in the history of Bollywood and created an unending furore over the social media networks post the alleged suicide of promising actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. The late actor was reported to be suffering from depression which led him to kill himself. However, after online protests and petitions, the apex court appointed CBI to probe the case and bring justice to the late actor.

In the ongoing investigation with CBI and ED, a new drug angle came into play which invited Narcotics Control Bureau to investigate the matter in connection to the alleged drug consumption by the family of the prime suspects. On Friday morning, several NCB officers raided the houses of actress Rhea Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda. The NCB Deputy Director said that it is a procedural matter and they are following provisions of NDPS act.

The NCB started their investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s case after Enforcement Directorate found several chats indicating the usage of drugs by the prime suspects. On 26 August, NCB registered a case against Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty and others under Sections 20, 22, 27 and 29 of the NDPS act. Rhea Chakraborty has been booked for alleged drug conspiracy in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case.
