The launch of the rap reality TV programme Realme “MTV Hustle 2.0″ was announced by MTV India which is produced by Fremantle and co-powered by Wild Stone’s new classic range. 16 rappers compete in the most recent season for 10 weeks.
Following the popularity of season one, MTV has announced a second season of the popular rap/hip-hop reality series MTV Hustle, which premiered on September 3, 2022, and airs every Saturday and Sunday at 7 pm on MTV India and Voot, has Badshah as the judge and fellow Indian rap trendsetters EPR, King, Dino James, and Dee MC as Squad Bosses.
The contestants are groomed and judged by Badshah and the four Squad Bosses based on their skill, performance, metre, technique, musicality, and storytelling. Through public voting on the VOOT app, viewers may participate in the trip to support their favourite talent, and as the programme goes on, they can keep an eye out for the ‘Squad of the Week’ and the ‘Performer of the Week.’
Anshul Ailawadi, Head of Youth, Music, and English entertainment said, “MTV Hustle 2.0 is an ode to India’s rap scene – it puts the spotlight on undiscovered talent and celebrates an art form that is amongst the youth’s foremost passion points. This season goes deeper into the country to offer tomorrow’s hip-hop icons their biggest canvas, today.”
Suchita Shah, Head, Content Originals at MTV, said, “It’s bigger and fiercer this season! Realme MTV Hustle 2.0 is all about discovering untapped rap talent to the fore and bringing their unique stories to viewers and music lovers across the nation. That fire and passion which drives rap music in all its glorious diversity are what makes the concept tick. The latest season elevates the rap battleground like never before, with the new format, judge and squad bosses!”
Due to the fact that it is one of the few programmes including rap and hip-hop that appeals to young people, the show has been a smash in the TRPs. Like its first season, The Singing Reality Show Hustle 2.0 is predicted to have strong TRP ratings as well, however, the ratings are predicted to be difficult due to changes made to the show’s direction for Season 2022. Season 1 of MTV Hustle saw over 700 million views and 3.6 billion minutes of viewing across TV and Voot. At the end of the season, the total number of viewers will be announced, and it is anticipated to perform well.
Fans of the Hustle will note that King Rocco and EPR Iyer have been runner-ups in the first season of the MTV Hustle. As fans will get to witness their favourite contestant develop as a judge and see the fresh hip-hop talent from all around India, this will heighten the enthusiasm among the audience and make the programme more fascinating. MTV Hustle 2.0 is being hosted by Krissann Barretto, as opposed to Gaelyn Mendonca who presided over the first season. Let’s wait and see how the new ideas of squads and the addition of two prior runners-up as judges will impact the show’s TRPs.
