Post establishing a career in the Indian television industry, Mrunal Thakur had been hitting the right chords in the Bollywood industry as well. With movies like Super 30 alongside Hrithik Roshan and Batla House opposite John Abraham, the actress made her mark in the Bollywood industry and was last seen in Karan Johar’s digital anthology Ghost Stories. While Mrunal Thakur already has big banner projects in her kitty, the latest reports suggest that she has bagged another.
As per the media reports, Mrunal Thakur has been approached to play the female lead opposite Akshay Kumar in the upcoming spy thriller, Bell Bottom. The source claims that filmmaker Nikkhil Advani was keen on casting Mrunal in the retro detective drama as he has worked with the actress in John Abraham starrer Batla House and impressed with her work ethic. Meanwhile, if things work out as expected, we might get to see a fresh pair on the big screen.
Earlier, the first look poster of Bell Bottom was unveiled and featured Akshay Kumar in a retro avatar. Set in the 80’s, Akshay was seen wearing a coffee brown bell-bottomed suit with a thick moustache and dark sunglasses. Helmed by Ranjit Tiwari, the movie is slated to release on 22 January 2021.

Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur will soon start shooting for the Shahid Kapoor starrer sports-drama, Jersey, which is a Hindi remake of the superhit Telugu-language drama of the same name. Along with Jersey, the actress also has a prominent character to play in the Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra directorial, Toofan, starring Farhan Akhtar in the lead.
