Months ago, Ronnie Screwvala’s production banner, RSVP Movies, announced a collaboration with Sidharth Malhotra, Rashmika Mandanna and filmmaker Shantanu Bagchi for a movie on India’s most ambitious covert operation. On Saturday morning, the much-anticipated movie went on the floors.
Production banner, RSVP Movies, took to its Twitter handle to announce the commencement of the movie and shared a picture of the clapboard of Mission Majnu. The caption read, “The first chapter of one of India’s deadliest covert operations begins today! #MissionMajnu commences shoot in Lucknow.”

Helmed by Shantanu Bagchi, Mission Majnu is inspired by real events and one of India’s most courageous missions against the neighbouring nation. Set in the 1970s, the movie features Sidharth Malhotra as the lead RAW agent of the mission and also marks the Bollywood debut of Rashmika Mandanna in the key role.
