The comic book based character, Superman, is the ideal superhero and also the strongest in his league of superheroes, Justice League. While the character was last played by Henry Cavill in the DCEU, his retirement as the Blue Boy Scout has been one of the most discussed topics. While the fans wish to see Henry back in the red cape, J.J. Abrams and screenwriter Ta-Nehisi Coates are reportedly working on a different imagination.

According to popular speculations, the director and writer duo is working on a different storyline for a Superman reboot and plans to bring an African-American Superman. Ever since the rumours of a live-action African-American Superman came to light, Micheal B. Jordan was named as the biggest contender to play the part. He was reported to be approached by the studio to play Calvin Ellis, a superman from a different Earth on the multiverse.

In a recent interview, Micheal split some beans on the rumours by dodging the question of him being approached to play Supes and said, “I don’t know what is really going on with [Black Superman] in particular. But everybody’s want and desire to see black leads and heroic roles is really important. Representation is important.” The actor further stated that there are many different characters who never saw the light. “And there are certain ones that should just be where they are. So let’s just see how things shake out,” he concluded.

While the mystery still remains intact, we will have to wait a little longer to see a Black Superman on the big screen. On the other hand, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, who will be playing the anti-hero character of Black Adam in the upcoming DCEU movie, is leaving no stones unturned to bring Henry Cavill back as the Blue Boy Scout.
