Son of ace filmmaker Sooraj Barjatya, Avnish Barjatya, is all set to follow the footsteps of his father and make his directorial debut in Bollywood. It was earlier revealed that Avnish will be helming a family entertainer with Kartik Aaryan playing the lead but the latest developments suggest that the role has been bagged by Meezaan Jaffrey instead.

As per earlier reports, Avnish Barjatya had been in talks with Luka Chuppi actor, Kartik Aaryan, to play the hero in his directorial debut but after detailed discussions, things didn’t materialize between the two. After Kartik’s exit, the upcoming filmmaker approached Meezaan Jaffrey and the latter reportedly has given his verbal agreement to the project. The movie involves bits and pieces of family drama, romance, and action. The director feels that Meezaan each part given his chocolate boy next door look.

The upcoming untitled movie is said to be mounted on a lavish budget with the backdrop of a destination wedding. While the new generation will be giving his modern touch, the movie will be a usual Rajshri family drama as per the reports. Once the dotted line has been signed, the development will pick up the pace and the dates will be locked for the shooting early next year. Currently, Meezaan is working on the sequel to cult-comedy, Hungama, and he will be seen sharing screen with Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Paresh Rawal.
