India’s first ever interplanetary space mission – ‘Mangalyaan’ in the year 2013 is all set to be made into a feature film names ‘Mission Mangal’ starring Akshay Kumar in the lead, under the banner of Fox Star studios and Cape of Good Films.

Akshay introduced the other major star cast of the film on his social media that includes Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Nithiya Menen, Sonakshi Sinha and Kirti Kulhari.

Directed by Jagan Shakti who has worked with Akshay as an Assistant Director in  ‘Holiday: A Soldier is never off Duty’ and ‘Padman’, the story revolves around 2013’s Mangalyaan which was launched on 5th November 2013 and the people behind its success. India is world’s first ever country to have successfully launched the mission in first attempt.

The team will begin shooting for the movie in November 2018 itself, while on the other hand Akshay is gearing up for a magnanimous release of  his first ever southern movie ‘2.0’ alongside superstar Rajnikanth on 29th November.
