Film Producer Bhushan Kumar is all ready to jump into the Patriotic Cinema genre with his upcoming movie ‘Bhuj: The Pride Of India’ based on one of the  rarely told stories of 1971’s Indo-Pak war, where in 300 fearless women and a civilian man, along with the Defense officers helped India win the war.

The ensemble cast comprises of Ajay Devgn leading the project as Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik, Sanjay Dutt as civilian Ranchordas Svabhai Ravari a.k.a ‘Pagi’, Parineeti Chopra as an Indian spy in Lahore plays femme-fatale Heena Rehman, Sonakshi Sinha plays social worker Sunderben Jetha Madharparya, Telugu superstar Rana Daggubati as Madras Regiment’s Lt. Colonel and Punjabi singer-actor Ammy Virk as a Fighter Pilot.

Directed and written by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the story revolves around the Indo-Pak’s 1971 war when Gujarat’s Bhuj Indian Airforce airstrip was completely destroyed due to heavy & continuous bombings by Pakistan. Squadron leader Vijay Karnik who was in-charge of the Airforce station then, along with his team rebuild the whole runway strip so as to help the flight carrying Indian Army soldiers a smooth and safe landing.

To rebuild the destroyed runway, Karnik involved the nearby villagers located in Madhapur that wasn’t really an easy task, that too in such short span of time. If not for the brave 300 women led  and convinced by Sunderben to help the team reconstruct the runway strip, India’s road to victory in the war would have really become difficult and resulted in loss of many soldiers.

The film will be going on floors soon and is probably slated for an early 2020 release.
