The upcoming Mohit Suri directorial, Malang, has been getting great response from the audience for its action-packed trailer and soulful tracks. While the psychological thriller has an ensemble cast of Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu, reports have it that the original choice to play the female lead in the movie was Kriti Sanon.

According to the media reports, Kriti Sanon was approached to play the female lead in the mystery revenge drama but the actress had to walk out of the movie owing to her prior work commitments. Backing the reports, director of the movie, Mohit Suri, has cleared the air and confirmed that Kriti Sanon was indeed approached for Malang. The filmmaker said that they had approached the Panipat actress but couldn’t manage the dates.

Mohit Suri further said that Malang comprises of a big cast and it was difficult to get the dates for every actor. “As a director, my job was to reach out to an actor. I did that, but then she also received offers for Housefull 4 and Panipat. Kriti really wanted to do Malang, but she had to let go of it and choose other films instead,” the director added.

Talking about the movie, Malang stars Aditya Roy Kapur, Disha Patani, Anil Kapoor and Kunal Kemmu in prominent characters in the psychological murder thriller and slated to release on the 7th of February.
