While remakes have been a success mantra in the Bollywood industry lately, filmmakers are constantly on the hunt to find the most bankable movies that can be remade. While every other filmmaker is currently working or planning to work on a remake of another successful movie, the makers of Kabir Singh have bagged the remake rights of classic Bollywood drama, Namal Halal.

As per the sources, Murad Khetani has bought the rights to the classic hit, Namak Halal, which originally starred Amitabh Bachchan, Samita Patil, Parveen Babi and Shashi Kapoor as the prominent characters. “I have bought the rights to remake Amitabh Bachchan-Shashi Kapoor-Smita Patil-Parveen Babi starrer Namak Halal. It’s a film that has been loved across generations and by people of all ages. We are working on the script at this point. We haven’t approached any actor or director for the film as of now. We will work on the casting once we lock the script completely,” film producer Murad Khetani informed.

While there have been no developments on the cast and crew for the movie, it is certain that the remake of Namak Halal will bring back many memories for the cinemagoers. Released in the year 1982, the movie revolves around the character of Amitabh Bachchan who tries to save the character of Shashi Kapoor from getting killed.
