Tusshar Kapoor, who is both an actor and producer, is getting ready to make his big-screen comeback with a suspenseful thriller five years after his last film, Golmaal Again (2017). He will reunite with legendary actor Naseeruddin Shah in the movie Maarrich. Previously, the two had worked together on the 2011 film The Dirty Picture, which also starred Vidya Balan.
Maarrich, a remake of the Tamil film Kanchana (2011), would be Kapoor’s second production under his label Tusshar Entertainment House following the Akshay Kumar-starring Laxmii (2020). Maarrich’s creators used an interesting logo of the movie and the phrase “catch the evil” to promote the release date today. It is a whodunit thriller that was written and directed by Dhruv Lather, and Kapoor will be seen portraying a tough cop.
Kapoor said of the movie, “This film is really close to my heart for a number of reasons. After Laxmii, Maarrich will be my second production as a producer, and I’ll be reunited with Naseeruddin Shah saab after a very long time.”
Kapoor expresses his belief that it is a significant movie for him and said, “The film has pushed me since an actor on many levels as it’s completely different from the work that I have previously been engaged with,”. I’m hoping the viewers appreciate my new hue.”
The whodunit thriller would choose a direct-to-OTT distribution, according to earlier statements made by Kapoor to Newshelpline. But he claims that the movie will now be released in theatres on December 9, 2022. Kapoor announced on social media in January 2021 that he has started filming the project. “Nearly 20 years into this amazing adventure of bringing tales to life, the year 2021 kicks out with #Maarrich… a change from my normal approach, a movie that pushes me to grow as an actor! Excited to give a preview and much more so to finally share screen time with Naseer Sir.
Tusshar Entertainment House presents Maarrich in collaboration with NH Studios. It is produced by Kapoor, Narendra Hirawat, and Shreyans Hirawat, with Girish Johar and Priyank V Jain serving as co-producers.
