Indian Television actress Mrinal Thakur joins the list of television artists transcending into Bollywood. The trailer of Mrinal’s debut movie ‘Love Sonia’ directed by Tabrez Noorani and produced by the maker of ‘Life of Pi’ David Womark has just got out and undoubtedly has become the talk of the town for all the right reasons.
The movie inspired by true events is the brave story of Sonia played by Mrinal Thakur and her search for her sister Preeti played by Riya Sisodia who is sold away by their father (Adil Hussain) to the sex traffickers in exchange of money.
There are about 270 girls and women who go missing in India every day as the trailer mentions. In her quest to find her beloved sister, Sonia lands herself in the dark world of global sex trade, where people are waiting to pound on her body, rape her and trade her to international sex market. Her journey makes her come across a lot many people some who push her deeper into darkness and some who genuinely want to help her out. But she must fight it all and live to find her sister.
Mrinal’s rawness and vulnerability in the trailer just takes the impact a sky notch higher. Also, she is supported by such talent house of actors like Anupam Kher, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkumar Rao, Richa Chadda, Freida Pinto, Sai Tamhankar, Sunny Parwar, Demi Moore and Mark Duplass. The trailer and performances touches chord with your sentiments and makes you eagerly wait for the movie to get released.
The movie had its world wide premier at the London Film Festival in June this year. It is slated to release in India on 14 September 2018. Mrinal will also soon be seen opposite Hrithik Roshan in their upcoming movie ‘Super 30’ in January next year.
