In a dramatic turn of events, the much-anticipated Hera Pheri 3 has hit a legal roadblock. Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films, has reportedly slapped veteran actor Paresh Rawal with a ₹25 crore legal notice. The reason? Rawal allegedly walked out of the film after accepting a partial payment of ₹11 lakh.

Sources close to the production reveal that Rawal had confirmed his participation in the third installment of the iconic comedy franchise earlier this year—both publicly and through an official term sheet signed on March 27. He also received a token payment as part of his acting fee.

Following his confirmation, the makers claim they moved forward in good faith, shooting a teaser featuring Rawal, scheduling shoots, and including him in multiple creative meetings alongside co-stars Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty. Production began on April 3, and over three minutes of footage with Rawal was reportedly filmed.

However, Rawal’s sudden exit from the film—citing “creative differences”—came as a shock to the team. According to insiders, the actor never raised any concerns during script readings or planning discussions. The notice issued by Cape of Good Films calls his exit “abrupt and unjustified,” claiming it derailed the production schedule and led to financial losses.

The legal notice demands a response within seven days, warning of both civil and criminal action if the matter isn’t resolved.

This controversy follows growing speculation about a rift between Rawal and the production team. While the actor has confirmed stepping away from the project and claimed he informed the team, both Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan have denied receiving any prior notice. They’ve also expressed support for the legal action being pursued.

With Hera Pheri 3 already under intense scrutiny from fans eager to see the beloved trio reunite, this legal battle has added a layer of uncertainty to one of Bollywood’s most cherished comedy franchises.
