Deepika Padukone will soon be seen playing the character of an acid attack survivor in the Meghna Gulzar directorial, Chhapaak. While the trailer of the movie received a phenomenal response from the audiences, Deepika Padukone impressed everyone with her soulful and tearjerking performance. While the movie is based on the real-life journey of Laxmi Agarwal, recently reports started doing rounds over the internet that she got paid a whopping 13 lakhs for the story.

After news of Laxmi Agarwal’s association with the Deepika Padukone starrer came into light, reports of Laxmi Agarwal getting paid 13 lakhs by the makers of the emotional drama started doing rounds over the internet. Rubbishing the news, Laxmi Agarwal took to her social media handle to deny such rumours of accepting money for the movie.

Sharing a screenshot of such news, Laxmi Agarwal wrote in her Instagram post, “Ye bilkul fake news hai. (It’s a fake news)”. While she denied accepting money for Chhapaak, makers or the cast of the movie haven’t opened up on such rumours so far.

Inspired by Laxmi Agarwal’s real-life story, Chhapaak stars Deepika Padukone and Vikrant Massey in key roles. The Meghna Gulzar directorial is slated to release on 10 January 2020 and will be competing with Ajay Devgn and Saif Ali Khan’s Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior at the box office.
