Veteran singer Lata Mangeshkar was rushed to the hospital after she was diagnosed with COVID-19 on Tuesday and is currently admitted to the ICU of Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital. Her niece confirmed the news and asserted that she is doing fine and has been kept under medical supervision considering her age.
As per the early reports, Lata Mangeshkar complaint of COVID-19 symptoms and she underwent the test which turned out to be positive. The 92-year-old singer was immediately shifted to the ICU unit of Mumbai’s Breach Candy hospital as a precautionary measure and to provide the best medical supervision at the earliest possible. Her niece, Rachna Shah, confirmed the news to ANI and said that the veteran singer has mild symptoms.
“She is doing fine; has been kept in ICU only for precautionary reasons considering her age. Please respect our privacy and keep Didi in your prayers,” Rachna said in her statement. Lata Mangeshkar is known to have lung infection earlier and she was admitted to the hospital in September 2019 when she complained of breathing problems. However, she recovered from the viral chest infection and we wish her a speedy recovery from COVID-19 as well.
