The highly praised cult favourite, Laal Rang, starring Randeep Hooda, is making a comeback on the big screen with its sequel Laal Rang 2: Khoon Chusva. Randeep Hooda, the actor, announced on Friday that he will be reprising his role as Shankar Malik in the sequel to the 2016 film Laal Rang. He made the announcement via social media, and will also be co-producing Laal Rang 2 alongside Panchali Chakraverty and Yogesh Rahar.

Taking to his social media handle, Randeep announced the sequel to Laal Rang and also shared his first look from the film. He wrote “Yeh Lo!! Hawa Mein Pranaam. #LaalRang2 Shooting Soon!” The poster depicts Randeep Hooda glancing over his shoulder with a splash of blood on his chest. The sequel will be directed by Syed Ahmad Afzal, who also directed the first instalment.

In Laal Rang, Randeep Hooda portrayed Shankar Malik, the proprietor of an illicit blood bank. The film also featured Akshay Oberoi and Piaa Bajpai in key roles.

Director Syed Ahmed Afzal provided information about the film in his statement. He expressed excitement about beginning the production again and described the story as dark, murky and suitable for an enthralling film. He also mentioned that the sequel will have similar essence as the original but it will be darker, more intense, violent and still have some comedic elements.

Akshay Oberoi and Pia Bajpiee will also return for the second part while casting is currently underway for new characters.
