Indian Television actor Kushal Tandon who rose to fame and popularity with Star Plus’s ‘Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai’ and Sony’s ‘Beyhadh’ has a special request for his fans that no other actor  would ever really dare to do.

The actor recently took to his social media handle and requested his fans to not waste their precious time in voting for him in the ’18th Indian Television Academy Awards 2018′ where he  is nominated in the Most Popular Category (Male).

He would rather have his fans doing something way more productive in their lives than spending it doing unproductive stuffs like these. For him it’s their genuine love, support and appreciation that matters and not these awards.

The credibility of Award functions have time and again been questioned by Celebrities, industry fraternity and audience alike. Many have in fact accepted about most of these award functions being highly rigged.

It’s a known fact that award functions like Filmfare, Stardust, Television Awards are mostly just meant for commercial entertainment, promotions and for promoting artists. A lot of times deserving artists don’t even get nominated. It certainly isn’t the accurate measure of an artist’s popularity or credibility of their work.

While there were a lot of his fans and other people who were appreciating his honesty and straight forwardness, there were others who felt the actor was being disrespectful to the Indian Television Academy that has created a niche and credibility for itself in the last 18 years, way longer than Kushal has been part of the industry.

Now whether or not the actor meant to disrespect the Indian Television Academy Awards is up to people’s perception, most importantly for the actor to clarify. Is he  genuinely happy with just fans love and no awards coming his way or does the actor specifically not really trust or believe in the Academy’s awards?

On the work front Kushal was last seen in Ekta Kapoor’s Alt Balaji Original web series ‘Hum’ alongside Ridhima Pandit and Karishma Sharma.
